2018-2019 NAM Scholarships

NAM SCHOLARSHIP

NAM's Scholarship Program is an investment in the future of the Maronite Church. Because we recognize the importance of our youth - our future - we strive to offer them financial assistance as they begin their college careers.

In 2010 via partnership with NDU and USEK, we strengthened the scholarship and heritage programs; as students study for a semester in Lebanon.

Through personal contributions and special collections at all our conventions we continue to build up our scholarship fund in an effort to increase the dollar amount and the number of annual scholarships we offer. Your tax-deductible donations are welcome!


We are happy to announce NAM's Annual Scholarship Program. On the right are application forms for:

1. NAM General Application for Scholarships:

  • John A. Solomon Memorial - MYO Scholarship; Two scholarships of $2000 each, payable over 2 years, available for high school seniors who are active members of MYO
  • Massabki Brothers Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, payable over 2 years, available for high school seniors
  • Naomi & Paul Kassouf Scholarship; Two scholarships of $2000 each, payable over 2 years, available for high school seniors
  • Paul Wakim Scholarship; One scholarship of $1000, available for high school seniors
  • St. John Maron Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, payable over 2 years, available for high school seniors from St. John Maron, Orange, CA
  • Gilbert Chagoury Undergraduate Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, available for students already in college
  • Robert Atallah Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, available for students already in college
  • Thomas and Jennie Ayoob Memorial Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, payable over 2 years, available for students already in college
  • Gilbert Chagoury Graduate Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, available for students already in masters or doctorate program
  • Joseph and Alice Resha Memorial Scholarship; One scholarship of $2000, payable over 2 years, available for high school seniors and students already enrolled in a degree or certificate program and pursuing a career in the healthcare field

    • 2. USEK Scholarship: The University of the Holy Spirit-Kaslik, Lebanon. 10 Summer scholarships will be awarded which will include full tuition and dormitory; and $500 once the semester is completed. Available for college students; Summer 2019.

    3. NDU Scholarship: Notre Dame University-Louaize, Lebanon. 12 scholarships for the Spring or Fall semester, both include full tuition and dormitory; and $500 once a semester is completed. Available for college students; Spring/Fall 2019

    Please promote these scholarships at your parish. At a minimum, please post the enclosed flyers in the church and add it to the bulletin. The DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS May 15, 2018. This is a "hard and fast" deadline and, in fairness to all applicants, absolutely no applications will be accepted after this date.

    As always, we encourage your participation in this annual scholarship program, and we look forward to receiving the completed scholarship applications. Thank you for your continued support of NAM.

    The scholarships winners will be announced at NAM's National Convention, on Thursday night July 12, 2018. All current applicants and past winners are especially encouraged to attend.

    The Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the NAM Scholarships for the 2017-2018 acadmic year. Each winner will receive a $1000 scholarship pending notification of enrollment in college. This scholarship may be renewed for one additional year provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 or better average on a 4.0 scale and enrolls for an additional year in college.
